Research Manager – Assay Design for Molecular Diagnostics (m/f/d)

Your Position
As a Research Manager “Assay Design for Molecular Diagnostics” you work in a highly qualified, cross-functional team to develop streamlined and automated solutions for multiparametric molecular assay design and sophisticated PCR multiplex assays to support internal and external clients in molecular diagnostics.

Your Tasks

  • Plan, lead and coordinate the development of complex multiplex PCR assay designs for human in-vitro diagnostic products and laboratory developed tests
  • Support the establishment of a bioinformatics workflow for multiplex PCR assay design
  • Develop protocols and work processes intended to standardize and automate assay design for internal and external customers
  • Perform data analysis, derive solutions for workflow improvements, give presentations
  • Scientific contribution to complex problem solving and technical development
  • Training of technical and specialist staff and build-up of know-how transfer solutions internally and externally

Your Profile

  • Masters' degree (M.Sc.) minimum, preferably in molecular biology or related discipline (e.g. biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular medicine, bioinformatics)
  • Experience in research and development in the diagnostic industry or PhD experience in the field of molecular diagnostics or DNA analytics
  • Excellent understanding of oligonucleotide (primers, probes) design for single- and multiplex PCR applications
  • Experienced in data analysis of genetic and genomic data
  • Interested in integrating workflows in software solutions and affinity towards programming languages
  • Naturally inclined towards automated solutions and streamlined processes
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to keep up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job
  • Team player with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Fluent in English and preferably German (both are working languages at Biotype)
